Chase by Trevor Hoani

Description

I named my tiger Chase because he likes to chase other animals when hunting. Tigers are solitary, nocturnal ambush predators that stalk and pounce on prey such as deer and wild boar. They mark their territory by scratching trees and leaving scent marks, and they often rest in the shade during the heat of the day. Tigers are strong swimmers who readily enter water to cool themselves and can traverse lakes and rivers. Their unique striped coats provide excellent camouflage. As the largest living cat, tigers patrol their territories to maintain control.

Method: I used foam to shape the tiger’s head. When it dried, I carved it into the shape I wanted. I blended orange recycled paper and poured it onto the foam. I added punched out letters to the pulp while it was still wet. I made his black stripes using rolled up paper.
